Marked Change

Industry changes are hard to spot but have clear impact over time.

It’s funny how change goes almost unnoticed while it’s happening, but when you look back over the course of a few years, it seems so dramatic and clear.

Six years ago, there were a few dozen companies that were NAID AAA Certified. Now there are more than 800 NAID AAA Certified locations, and the certification is making the transition from being an obscure point of distinction to a baseline requirement for doing business.

The way secure destruction services are sold is going through a similar transition right now. The NAID Compliance Toolkit, Certified Secure Destruction Specialist accreditation, Customer Employee Training video, and the new Doctors’ Office Marketing Program are all symptomatic of this new approach to sales in the information destruction industry.

I, for one, will not be surprised three or four years from now when I look back and remember the days when all you needed to succeed in our industry was a shredding machine.
