Groundbreaking for the new plant is slated to begin next month. It will service customers in Kentucky, Tennessee, and southern Indiana.
The plant will be the sixth container operation in the company’s Central Container Division. Nationally Longview Fibre currently operates 16 container and bag plants in 11 states; a pulp and paper mill in Longview, Wash., a lumber plant in Washington and more than 570,000 acres of timberlands.
In addition to the Bowling Green facility, the company's Central Container Division includes plants at Milwaukee, Wis.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Grand Forks, N.D.; and a newly-constructed plant at Seward, Neb.
