Weyerhaeuser will increase some paper prices by about 8 percent, similar to a move that Georgia-Pacific Group is making.
Weyerhaeuser will increase prices by $60 a ton on Sept. 8 for the type of paper used in offices, the company said.
Prices for that paper grade have increased about 15 percent over the past year on rising demand and cutbacks in paper production by companies, analysts said.
