Waste Management Inc. agreed to a $570 million sale of its trash service operations in the United Kingdom to Severn Trent Plc. Waste Management expects the deal to be completed this summer. The sale is subject to regulatory approval.
Among the operations included in the sale is UK Waste, one of the largest integrated trash haulers in Britain. The sale is a result of Waste Management's ongoing divestiture of international properties as the company sharpens its focus on North America.
