Uniforet announced that
production at its Port-Cartier pulp mill will be suspended from February 16
until March 12. This measure is necessary because of the temporary slowdown in
demand for commercial pulp on the worldwide market. The 25- day halt will
reduce production by some 14,000 metric tons, 7% of the pulp mill's total
estimated output for 2001.
