Tidewater Fibre Corp.
recently received a curbside recycling contract by the Virginia Peninsula
Public Service Authority.
The program will begin Nov.
1. At that time TFC will begin providing curbside collection services to more
than 40,000 households in the area. The region includes Williamsburg and
Poquoson, Va., as well as the counties James City and York.
The company has hauling and
recycling operations in Chesapeake, Newport News/Hampton and Chester/Richmond,
Va., as well as Durham, N.C.
When the program begins Tidewater
will be servicing more than 650,000 households through its collection programs
and handling more than one million pounds of paper and containers a day.
Tidewater, headquartered in
Chesapeake, Va., employs around 350 people. They provide curbside collection and
processing services.
