Tetra Pak Canada recently inked a deal with Atlantic Packaging to take in all the aseptic cartons collected in the eastern provinces of Canada.
Under this new program, expected to begin by the end of this month, Crown Packaging will be taking in both types of drink containers from the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The program will operate with Encore International, which will collect the cartons to be used by the company.
The company has been retrofitting its equipment, and expects to start taking in material to be used by the company by the end of this month.
In an unrelated news, Crown Packaging has changed the name of its Burnaby paper mill to Greencoast Papermill, a division of Crown Packaging. A spokeswoman for the company said the change reflects the role the company is playing in the use of recovered fiber.
