During its annual meeting Stora Enso announced plans to rebuild two paper machines at two of its locations in Europe. The goal of the rebuilds will be to develop the company's multi-coated product range and focus on sheets. The first machine will increase production from 420,000 metric tons to 515,000 metric tons a year of medium weight coated fine paper. The second machine will see a capacity increase from 175,000 metric tons to 206,000 metric tons of heavyweight coated fine paper.
Both rebuilds should be complete by next year.
Stora also approved the sale of its remaining assets and business of its Swedish mill. The sale should be complete by early October.
