Smurfit-Stone Container is indefinitely
closing its corrugated medium mill in Carthage, Ind. While the mill is being officially
idled, a spokesman for Smurfit said the mill is not being closed permanently. The
shutdown is strictly market related, and is temporary. The company expects to reopen
the mill when markets begin improving.
