Rengo Co., a Japanese papermaker, will spend $29.4 million to
expand the paperboard production capacity of its Chinese joint venture by 80
percent, the Nihon Keizai newspaper said.
The plant, owned 35 percent by Rengo, another 35 percent by Hong Kong's Hung Hing Printing Group Ltd. and the rest by a Chinese state-run company, targets an annual paperboard production of 150,000 tons.
China uses about 10 million tons of paperboard yearly, the
newspaper said.
