AssiDomän AB’s
board of directors announced plans to expand the operations at its Italian
containerboard mill. The investment will include rebuilding one of the paper
machines and improvement the mill’s internal logistics.
The investment
will increase the annual production capacity by 40,000 metric tons, bringing
total annual production to around 180,000 metric tons of fluting and testliner.
According
to the company, the Italian corrugated board market is the second largest in Europe
with an annual growth of 3-5 percent. About 90 percent of AssiDomän AB’s Ania’s
production is consumed domestically.
