Plainwell Paper announced plans to close its Plainwell, Mich., mill Nov. 6
after more than 100 years of operation. The mill has three paper machines,
although one was closed several weeks ago due to a lack of orders.
The company manufactures pressure-sensitive products such as sticker labels. According to news reports the mill has been unprofitable for more than one year.
