Perkins Papers Ltd. received early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act relating to its proposed acquisition of Wyant Corp. The tender offer for all the outstanding shares of Wyant is slated to expire midnight , October 5.
Perkins Papers Ltd. is the second largest producer of tissue paper in Canada and the seventh largest in North America. The company operates six mills and converting plants, five in Quebec, one in North Carolina.
Perkins's industrial infrastructure includes eight paper machines with a combined annual capacity of 262,000 tons of tissue paper. Perkins also operates 38 converting units.
