Exports
of recovered fiber continued to post strong numbers over the first 11 months of
the year. According to the most recent figures from the U.S. Commerce
Department paper stock exports jumped 28 percent on an annual rate for the
first 11 months of the year to 10.447 million tons.
For
November exports totaled 969,290 tons, a slight improvement from the previous
month.
Continuing
to be the biggest end market for exports is Canada. This region imported
216,544 tons in November, bringing the year to date figure to 2.871 million
tons, a 26.1 percent improvement from figures the same time last year.
