Pacifica Papers’s board of
directors approved an arrangement with Norske Skog Canada Ltd. to combine their
two businesses.
The newly combined company
will be a producer of newsprint, telephone directory paper, lightweight coated
paper and high bright paper. Combined the company will have annual capacity of
2.7 million metric tons of pulp and paper and will be one of the largest
businesses operating in the British Columbia forest products industry.
