The Newark Group acquired Fibor Packaging, a Dutch laminating and converting operation. The acquired company, located in The Netherlands, manufactures laminated solid board and solid board packaging. The company has annual capacity of 75,000 metric tons of heavy weight solid board. The company also is a producer of more than 20,000 metric tons of packaging a year.
The acquisition will add more solid board manufacturing and converting capacity to Newark's solid board business. With the addition of Fibor Newark Group's solid board operations will have an annual capacity of more than 110,000 metric tons.
The Fibor company includes its headquarters location, as well as converting plants in Pamplona, Spain, Plelo, France and Barcelona, Spain.
The Newark Group's European operations, headquartered in Barcelona, include two paper mills.
