Nashua Corp. has paid $15.8 million as part
of its settlement of a patent infringement suit brought by Ricoh Co. Ltd.,
Ricoh Corp. and Ricoh Electronics Inc.
Additionally, Nashua agreed to the
continuation of a 1997 permanent injunction entered against it, and dropped a
pending appeal, the company said in a statement.
``We're pleased to have reached a positive
settlement and to have the lengthy litigation behind us,'' Nashua Chairman, CEO
and president Andrew Albert said in the statement. ''Now Nashua looks forward
to discussions aimed at renewing the constructive business relationship that
Nashua and Ricoh enjoyed for many years prior to this lawsuit.''
