ForestExpress announced The Mead Corp. joined the e-commerce site as an equity partner. Mead joins as the fourth equity partner along with the company's founding partners, Georgia-Pacific Corp., International Paper and Weyerhaeuser Company.
ForestExpress will focus on its distinctive offering to provide a neutral platform to thousands of buyers and sellers across the industry. ForestExpress' automated Internet transaction based model will simplify and accelerate the adoption of electronic commerce across the industry.
To further strengthen the global offering, ForestExpress is pursuing three other leading forest products companies, Boise Cascade Corporation, Louisiana-Pacific Corp. and Willamette Industries, Inc., as additional strategic partners.
