Kruger Inc. announced plans
to take downtime at its Trois-Rivieres, Que., newsprint and coated paper mill
between this month and May.
According to the company,
the downtime is needed to make some improvements on three machines. The result
of the downtime will be the removal of around 12,000 metric tons of newsprint.
The improvements are expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter
of this year.
The mill typically produces
around 1,800 metric tons of paper a day, around 55 percent newsprint, 25
percent coated paper and 20 percent specialty grades.
