Japan's Renggo Joint Venture Co. is planning to build a factory to produce corrugated carton boxes in Indonesia,according to Handjaja Natawardja, a chairman of the association of the carton box industry said.
He made the comments after a meeting with Vice President Megawati Soekarnoputri, and said talks on the plan will be discussed at a meeting of Asia Pacific producers of corrugated carton boxes in Jakarta from October 17-18.
Handjaja said the factory was expected to contribute to improving the quality of corrugated carton boxes for Indonesian goods.
He said the market size of corrugated carton boxes in Indonesia was 911,500 tons in 1999 and the figure was expected to rise 15% this year.
