The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries is posting its Scrap Specifications Circular: Guidelines for Nonferrous Scrap, Ferrous Scrap, Glass Cullet, Paper Stock, Plastic Scrap, on its Web Site. The address is www.isri.org. It is located in the public area section of the site.
The scrap specifications guide is a reference for companies determining what constitutes various types of recyclable. The standards developed by ISRI over the years, while not mandatory, are widely accepted by both processors and consumers of the various recyclable materials.
"ISRI is working to keep the specifications current and to be responsive to the needs of both recyclers and consumers in the U.S. and abroad," said Sam Hummelstein, ISRI chairman.
Additionally, printed copies of the circular may be ordered from ISRI's publications catalog area at the site.
