Irving Tissue concluded the
purchase of Procter & Gamble's Toronto tissue plant. Following an agreed
transition period, Irving Tissue will also acquire the Royale trademark and
brand name.
The plant has the capacity
to produce 90,000 tons of tissue a year. The plant increases Irving’s
production capacity by 90 percent.
Irving Tissue began in 1988
with the purchase of a tissue mill in Saint John that produces jumbo rolls of
tissue for conversion into consumer products.
