Nexfor announced that plans to take
production downtime at one of its Fraser Papers pulp mills to remove 10,000
tons of pulp from the marketplace.
The company announced that its Edmundston
operations in New Brunswick will take two digesters producing magnesium sulfite
off line from Dec. 1-May 1. The company’s Thurso operations in Quebec will
increase is hardwood sulfate supply to maintain the balance.
The company attributed the move of softening
demand in the market.
