Fort James Corp. completed the previously announced acquisition of the Sandusky, Ohio plastic thermoforming operation from Whirley Industries, Inc., Warren, Pa.
The purchase gives Fort James' Dixie business a state-of-the-art facility that produces high-quality thermoformed plastic cups, lids and food containers, expanding the company's thermoforming production by approximately 25 percent. The plant features exceptional graphic design and printing capabilities, and employs approximately 300 people.
