A fire shut down a paper-recycling plant in Clifton, N.J. yesterday. The fire, at the Recycled Paperboard Inc., board mill, shut down traffic in the area for close to 12 hours, and caused significant damage to the finished product that was being stored.
According to news reports the fire, started early yesterday morning, was caused by a ceiling fan used for ventilation above one of the machines.
The mill manufactures a range of boxboard products for games, the backs of notepads and packaging dividers.
