A fire at the Quality Paper
Fibers recycling facility in Santa Clarita this past Friday caused around
$400,000 damage to the plant and equipment. Dan Samarin, with Quality, said the
damage was mostly limited to recyclables, although there was some damage to a
material feeder.
While the fire wiped out
some of the supply, the company expects to be back in operation by this coming
Friday.
The facility collects and
processes various grades of paper and paperboard, as well as bottles, cans and
plastics.
