Eastern Pulp & Paper Corp. has been
awarded patents by the United States and Australian governments for innovation
in the manufacturing of premium tissue products. The patent, awarded Oct. 24th,
involves an invention of spray-bonding individual tissue plies to allow them to
be converted at very high speeds into napkins, paper towels, medical disposable
towels, table covers and other similar products. The invention also permits the
tissues to be more easily printed in multiple bright colors and elaborate
designs.
