Domtar Inc. completed the acquisition of Ris Paper Company, Inc., an independent merchant of commercial printing and business paper. Ris sales will be consolidated with those of Domtar as this month. Ris sales in 1999 were approximately $600 million.
Domtar Inc. is Canada's largest producer of specialty and fine papers and the second largest producer of forest products in Eastern Canada. The company owns 50% of Norampac Inc., the largest Canadian producer of containerboard and corrugated containers.
