Crown Pacific Partners, L.P.
reported a first quarter loss of $13 million per unit, compared to net income
of $8.3 million for the same quarter in 2000. Revenue was $138.8 million,
compared to $231.7 million for the same 2000 period. Operating income for the
first quarter was $3.0 million, compared to $22.2 million for the first quarter
of 2000.
``Although depressed markets
continue, we have aggressively pursued maximizing production efficiencies,''
said Crown Pacific president and chief executive officer Peter W. Stott. ``By
reducing the Partnership's expenses, curtailing production where prudent and
conserving our asset base, we are navigating through difficult markets and
positioning the Partnership for a market rebound.''
