Box USA acquired the assets
of A. I. Halper in Minneapolis.
A.I. Halper is an
independent manufacturer of corrugated packaging products. It serves box shops
and other customers in the Minneapolis area. The plant recently relocated to
its current facility and updated much of its converting equipment. The company
had one location.
The asset sale was completed
this past Friday, March 2. The facility now operates under the name Box USA.
Jim Willis, vice president
and regional manager for Box USA, said the Minneapolis location is ideal
because the company did not yet have a presence in the area.
Privately held Box USA is
the largest independent paper-based packaging company in the United States,
with 23 manufacturing facilities. The company produces containerboard,
corrugated containers, partitions and other interior packaging, and
point-of-purchase displays.
