Bowater is expected to ink an agreement with Sepoong Corp., a South Korean paper company. The Korean operation is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding to sell its operations and assets for around $200 million.
The two companies have been in discussions since early last year. Bowater has been looking to extend its paper coverage through strategic acquisitions in Asia. To accomplish this Bowater acquired Halla Newsprint, another Korean paper company.
