Bowater Inc. expected fourth quarter
earnings to be between $1-$1.10 per diluted share before unusual net charges
for as much as $.20 per share.
The company said that demand for
newsprint and coated paper was strong during the quarter. However, the company
noted that market pulp shipments and increased operating costs at some of its
mills to have a negative effect on the company’s quarter.
