Asia Pulp & Paper Co
Ltd announced plans to take production downtime at two of its Indonesian mills.
The steps are being taken to keep the price of fine paper from eroding.
The downtime will reduce
output by around 50,000 metric tons of paper. One mill will be idled for a week
this month, with the other mill being closed for seven days next month.
The company also announced
that it would take further downtime if market conditions did not improve next
year.
