American Tissue Inc. announced record operating results for the first quarter. Revenues for the first quarter were $145.1 million, compared to $110.3 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2000, an increase of $34.8 million, or 31.6%. The increased revenues were due primarily to favorable operating conditions at all its mills and increased prices recognized in all product categories.
Net sales of tissue products were $88.7 million for the quarter, compared to $58.1 million for the same time the previous year, an increase of $30.6 million or 52.7%.
Net sales of uncoated freesheet paper products increased $5.9 million, or 18.2%, from $32.4 million between the two years.. This increase was due to increased production and higher average net sales prices per ton.
