Alcoa announced the selection of nine companies to receive its Used Beverage Container Supplier Awards for shipments of outstanding quality UBCs during the past year.
The winners include: Anheuser-Busch Distributing, Long Island, N.Y.; Central Oregon Recycling, Bend, Ore.; Coca-Cola Bottling, Holbrook, N.Y.; Main Street Fiber, Ontario, Calif.; Phillips Recycling, St. Cloud, Minn.; Southern Scrap, New Orleans; Thomas Recycling, Warner Robins, Ga.; Valley Metals, Harlingen, Tex.; and Wilkinson Iron, Laredo, Tex.
"These nine organizations have met or exceeded Alcoa's high quality standards for contaminant-free shipments and service as a standard for the nearly 2,000 companies who ship UBCs to Alcoa, said Bryan Steverson, chairman of the Alcoa Rigid Packaging business unit UBC quality committee.
