The London, Ont.-based designer and manufacturer of environmentally friendly packaging said the acquisition is a first step toward expanding its presence as a supplier to the personal computer, electronics, telecommunications, and consumer products industries. The addition of the 15,000-square foot manufacturing plant in suburban Boston supplements the company's existing capabilities in the areas of product engineering, design, prototyping and manufacturing.
Eco-form International said it intends to begin construction on a new manufacturing facility in the Pacific Northwest in the first quarter of next year in order to serve customers in the consumer products and electronics industries. The company also is looking a building a facility in the Southwest or Mexico to serve companies in the telecommunications and computer industries.
The molded pulp packaging produced by Eco-form is the most flexible and environmentally friendly alternative to other packaging methods currently in use.
