Plano whole system
Republic Plano opens its new MRF featuring “positive sorting.” Paper is sorted out optically to get a cleaner fraction. NWRA’s 2019 Recycling Facility of the Year.

Plano glass system
Republic Plano’s state of the art glass cleanup system produces glass with a quality of over 95%. NWRA’s 2019 Recycling Facility of the Year.

FCC Houston
FCC Houston installs extra optical sorting to clean up the fiber stream and an elliptical separator to prepare the container stream for more efficient optical sorting.

MRFF pilot program
Materials Recovery for the Future (MRFF) pilot program launches in Birdsboro, PA. Four new optical sorters will target flexible packaging as part of the effort.

ReSource Center
The ReSource Center project builds an MSW MRF at the Santa Barbara Tajiguas landfill to capture recyclables and organic matter that otherwise would have been landfilled.

Test Center
Customers have been conducting material tests at our test center, learning valuable ways to improve their operations while teaching us better practices in designing new systems.

APR Seminar
The APR hosts a Design Guide for Plastics Recyclability seminar at Van Dyk’s education center on how product makers can design packaging for better recoverability.

APR starts a test
Loading the infeed conveyor to start a test sorting PET from a container stream. The APR uses Van Dyk’s test center as part of their demonstrations.

APR visits a MRF
We took the APR conference attendees to local MRF City Carting to show them what actually happens to materials after they are put out for recycling.

Balers
New Bollegraaf HBC installations for high volume OCC, high-speed fiber, one dedicated to plastics only, and one baling ALL commodities in a residential single stream system.

Screen upgrade
A customer upgrade from traditional angled and polishing screens to non-wrapping ONP and elliptical screens. This screen combination separates paper and containers while scalping off film.

TOMRA with LOD
Pioneer OKC adds TOMRA with LOD (laser objection detection) for paper cleanup. LOD can identify things not seen by NIR, including black plastic and random trash items.

EcoWaste
In British Columbia, EcoWaste’s new wood processing system makes woody biomass products to sell domestically. The first system of its kind in Canada.

Used baler
A refurbished baler exits our baler rebuild center. We use only OEM parts to repair what is necessary before sending our balers off to new homes.

RoBB AQC
The new RoBB AQC from Bollegraaf is a robotic sorter that combines NIR and camera detection for superior recognition capabilities.

C&D upgrade
A C&D upgrade with size reducer, air density separators, optical sorters and dust suppression system. The upgrade doubled material throughput to +60 tph.

Sierra BioFuels
Sierra BioFuels, Reno, Nevada, expands their feedstock processing plant, which captures organics from household waste and turns it into synthetic gas and then liquid fuel.

DeftAir
Deft Air is installed over a fiber optical’s acceleration belt to apply a steady current that stabilizes light materials on the belt, like sheet paper and film.

BeeFoam
BeeFoam reduces on-site dust at C&D facilities. BeeFoam’s special formula binds to and suppresses dust for up to two weeks with just one application.

Training school grads
Students celebrate their graduation from Van Dyk’s equipment training program. These hands-on classes are available to Van Dyk customers and their technicians.
