Hopkins, Michigan-based Sebright Products' International Division has formed a strategic alliance with Avermann Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, a long-established equipment manufacturer from Osnabrück, Germany. Sebright will import and distribute Avermann horizontal balers, increasing Avermann’s footprint to the North American marketplace. In exchange, Avermann will import and distribute the Sebright line of specialty recycling equipment that depackages and bales contained liquids, densifies expanded polystyrene foam, dewaters liquid saturated waste and processes oil filters, to the European markets.
When Gary Brinkmann, managing director of Sebright International, and Rüdiger Martens, chief operating officer for Avermann, met at the IFAT Show in Munich in May 2018, both indicated they felt that the companies were of the same mind. They each worked closely with the board of directors in their respective home offices to forge a long-term relationship that will bring new and creative solutions to both markets, according to a press release from Sebright.
“Sebright shares the same values and puts the same attention to high-quality equipment as we do,” Martens says. “When speaking of our corporate beliefs, everyone seemed to agree that it was like looking in a mirror.”
The companies say a shared “dedication to building the best piece of equipment possible for each individual customer or project, a vigilant focus on safety, continuous innovation and service beyond the customers’ expectations” form the basis of the alliance.
Brinkmann says, “This is the culmination of several years of work by both organizations. We couldn’t be happier to have Avermann as part of our family and to be a part of theirs.”
