Sean Winters, a former co-owner of Winter Brothers Waste Systems Inc., Westbury, N.Y., has channeled his interest in New York Jets football and the solid waste and recycling industry into a highly visible tailgate party presence.

For the 2010-2011 football season, Winters commissioned fabricator John (A.J.) Bohata, to build a large grilling unit that looks like a roll-off truck.

According to Bohata, he built the attention-getting device from scratch. “I completely designed and fabricated the entire truck,” he says. “I made everything—cab, chassis, roll-off hoist, tanks, fenders and all the rest of the truck. When people see the truck they cannot believe their eyes.”

The New-York-Jets-themed grill truck stands 40 inches high, says Bohata. In early February, it made an out-of-state journey to host tailgate party functions in Dallas, where Super Bowl XLV is being played.

According to Bohata, the novelty grilling unit has helped garner publicity on television news reports as well as in the New York Post and The Daily News.
