President Donald Trump has announced plans to visit Pratt Industries’ new containerboard mill that is being constructed in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Atlanta-based Pratt plans to open the mill in October of this year. Pratt announced the plans for this mill in 2017.

The mill is expected to consume about 400,000 tons of recovered fiber, including mixed paper and old corrugated containers (OCC), annually once it’s fully operational. The company also operates a recycling facility just two miles away from this new mill.

According to a White House briefing report, Trump will be at Pratt’s mill on Sunday, Sept. 22, accompanied by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to tour the new facility. Atlanta-based Pratt Industries is owned by Visy, which is headquartered in Australia.

The White House briefing report states that Trump is visiting the mill “to underscore the important partnerships” between the United States and Australia.
