Bottaro: 620,000 miles of made in Italy baling wire

Learn how Bottaro can help equip your business for success.

November 1, 2022

Established in 1956, Bottaro is an Italian company producing iron wire for baling presses for the recovery and recycling of paper and cardboard, plastic, municipal solid waste, foam materials and fabrics.

To the moon: In 2021 Bottaro shipped 40,000 tons of wire to more than 50 countries around the world. This is possible thanks to the support of a dense network of customers and distributors through which it can reduce overseas shipping time. Fun fact: The wire produced by Bottaro in one year is about 620,000 miles and covers three times the distance between the earth and the moon.

3,000 customers, 5,000 plants, just one wire: Bottaro's flagship product is black-annealed, low-carbon steel wire for double-ram and vertical presses (BWR™ and BWR™ Plus), together with the Box Wire. In addition to the black annealed wire, Bottaro engineered BWR™ Galva HT, the specific high-strength galvanized steel wire for single-ram presses, particularly widespread in North America.

Exporting efficiently: From 2019 to 2022, turnover abroad increased from 53 percent to 70 percent. For this reason, logistics has been the target of significant investment. Bottaro has created an internal department with specialists in customs paperwork skilled in handling the many variables and issues involved in international handling.

Speed is nothing without control: For the past three years, the company has allocated significant resources to data-driven and robotized production processes to speed up production and raise the quality of every centimeter of wire. Bottaro has distinguished itself by focusing on technology innovation and an environmentally friendly approach to decision-making and production. (Read more.)

Ethics and responsibility, choices no longer negotiable: Bottaro wire connects operators to a vision of the future based on care for the environment and human resources and on no longer negotiable values of responsibility, ethics and sustainability.
