Wiedenbach Brown (WB), a New York-based company that provides lighting equipment and services, has received the 2012 Electronics Recycling Award from Veolia Environmental Services, with North American headquarters in Chicago. WB says the award demonstrates its commitment to environmental stewardship through programs, policies and procedures that help to protect the environment by recycling lighting and electronics waste.

"Wiedenbach Brown has established outstanding programs to promote environmental protection and product stewardship in operations, including recycling lighting and electronic waste from a large variety of customers nationwide," says Philip LoRicco, regional account manager at Veolia. "Last year, Wiedenbach Brown nearly doubled the volume of recycling products with Veolia, placing the company in our top five accounts in the northeast territory."

Gary Popovics, WB maintenance, repair and operations director, says, "Eleven states require recycling of lamps and ballasts with hazardous materials. Our goal is to provide our clients with the information and education to see the benefits in recycling, from both an environmental and business perspective and to provide them a seamless way to incorporate recycling into their lamp replenishment programs."

Jim Winkler, vice president of operations at WB, says, "Being recognized by a world-class environmental services company such as Veolia helps strengthen the sustainability initiatives of both WB and our clients. We would like to thank our clients for being so progressive in their commitment to doing what's right by including lighting and electronics waste recycling in their corporate social responsibility programs."

Veolia's Electronics Recycling Award was established in 2002. During the past decade, more than 100 companies have received the award. This is Wiedenbach Brown's second award in the last five years.
