US Shredder Announces Sale of 7090 Model

8/30/2010

Company announces sale of auto shredder to an undisclosed customer in the U.S. Midwest.

The US Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., says it has sold its new 7090 Heavy Duty Scrap Shredder to a scrap metal recycler in the Midwestern United States. The shredder model was introduced to the market at the 2010 Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) Annual Convention in May.

In announcing the sale of the shredder, Bill Tigner, president of US Shredder, says, “The strength and durability of our rotor will eliminate many of the maintenance and service issues associated with smaller, lighter shredders. Our new shredder will give operators advantages they have not had to date.”

The company expects construction on the shredder to be completed in five months, with installation of the shredder to begin by early 2011. Tigner says the shredder should be operational by the second quarter of 2011.

The release states that US Shredder engineers worked with the fabrication team to build “a bigger, heavier shredder with a design that allows the shredder to be built at the cost of the lighter competitive models.”

“With the interest we’ve received in this new model, we decided to place a second shredder into production for a quick delivery for our next customer,” Tigner adds.

The US Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, nonferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers, and loggers, as well as shredder castings, service and consulting to the global scrap industry.
