Tabernus, an Austin, Texas-based provider of data erasure solutions, has announced that theCommunications-Electronics Security Group (CESG), which is part of the U.K. Government Communications Headquarters, has certified the latest version of Tabernus’ data erasure software, Enterprise Erase v5.3.

To be certified, software must meet all of the criteria for secure erasure of magnetic media in accordance with HMG Infosec standards for government computer systems in the U.K.

After independent testing carried out by QinetiQ, a British global defense technology company under contract to CESG, the latest version of Tabernus has been formally certified for government use to securely erase data and has been added to the CESG Directory of Infosec Assured Products.

“Our certification with the CESG is a welcome independent confirmation that further validates our commitment to delivering outstanding data erasure solutions,” says Khalid Elibiary, Tabernus president. “The CESG agency has one of the most rigorous examinations of data erasure software in the world, and so certification indicates a product of the highest standards.”

Tabernus is a global provider of data erasure software, hardware and service solutions.
