Millennium Recycling adds refurbished Bollegraaf baler to its operations.

Recycling Today Staff December 3, 2013
Millennium Recycling, a Sioux Falls, S.D., recycling firm, says it expects to see a significant increase in its business after purchasing a refurbished Bollegraaf HBC-140 baler from Van Dyk Recycling Solutions (VDRS), Stamford, Conn. The refurbished baler will handle commercially generated old corrugated containers (OCC) and recovered fiber from a residential single-stream recycling program.

Following the installation, Jake Anderson, owner and president of Millennium, says, “We’ve already seen an increase in production.”

Scott Jable, VDRS Midwest regional manager, says, “Most used Bollegraafs are smaller models, having been traded in for upgrades to larger machines."

With the HBC-140, Millennium is expected to reach the following bale production levels, according to VDRS:

  • One bale of OCC weighing 2,100 to 2,200 pounds and measuring 60 inches in length every 85 seconds;
  • One bale of ONP (old newspapers) weighing 2,600 pounds and measuring 60 inches in length every 60 seconds; and
  • One bale of OMG (old magazines) weighing 2,600 to 3,000 pounds and measuring  54 to 60 inches in length every 70 seconds.

Van Dyk Recycling Solutions is the exclusive distributor of Bollegraaf, Lubo and TiTech machinery in North America. The company also designs and supplies recycling and recovery technology equipment to the industry.
