St. Louis-based recycler continues to expand its presence in Texas.
Shapiro Metals, headquartered in St. Louis, has opened a new scrap metal recycling facility in Denton, Tex. The location, near Dallas is the ninth scrap metal facility that Shapiro Metals has opened. The company already has two scrap recycling facilities in Texas: McAllen and Laredo.
The facility, which includes a 40,000-square foot warehouse and an HRB baler, will handle industrially generated nonferrous scrap metal from the area.
Bruce Shapiro, president of Shapiro Metals, says the company sought the Texas location because it had customers in the general area, and the new location will allow the company to grow its business in the Texas market.
Shapiro adds that the facility is a greenfield operation. “All of our locations are new. We believe in growing organically,” Shapiro says. When fully staffed the Denton location will have 10 employees.
