Pride Recycling seeks permit renewal for Sherwood, Ore., facility.

Recycling Today Staff August 5, 2013

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comments from the public on a request by Pride Recycling to renew its permit to operate a transfer station and material recycling facility (MRF) in Sherwood, Ore.

If approved, the company’s permit will allow it to operate at the Sherwood site until 2023. Pride Recycling has operated at the location since 1986.

According to the DEQ, the site has been designed and operated to collect, consolidate and transfer solid waste to a DEQ-permitted solid waste disposal site. Additionally, the site has been designed to recover dry waste material for recycling and reuse.

Those seeking more information on the permit renewal request can contact Julie Berndt of the DEQ Western Region at berndt.julie@deq.state.or.us.
