IT lifecycle management company provides on-site data destruction and sanitization.
MPC, an IT asset management company based in Minneapolis, has expanded its services to provide customers with on-site options for certified data sanitization and hard drive shredding.
“We have seen an exponential increase in the demand to perform mobile and on-site data destruction services,” says MPC Senior Vice President Gregg Bjork. “These enhanced capabilities help round out our already extensive array of data security solutions.”
MPC provides NAID- (National Association for Information Destruction-) certified data destruction and data sanitization as a standard service for all material entering its facilities. That same level of protection can now be offered at customer locations across the country in compliance with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 800-88 and U.S. Department of Defense (DOD 5220.22-M) sanitization guidelines, the company says.
In addition to securely preparing equipment for eventual disposal, on-site sanitization is often used for preparing leased equipment for return or for wiping devices earmarked for redeployment within a customer’s enterprise. On-site options such as these are designed to save customers the time, effort and costs of equipment and software it takes to do this on their own, which, if not done properly, increases the risk of inadvertent data loss, MPC says.
“These offerings give our customers peace of mind,” Bjork says. “They depend on us to mitigate the risks associated with handling sensitive data.”
Founded in 1983, MPC holds R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices), e-Stewards, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and NAID certifications.
