Mountain Valley Recycling Planning New Recycling Facility

New plant will be located in Frankfort, Kentucky.


Mountain Valley Recycling (MVR) announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant in Frankfort, Ky. When complete, the facility is expected to process around 90 million pounds per year of post-consumer recycled plastics.

The new 220,000 square foot facility previously was an auto parts manufacturer. In an announcement, MVR says the new site will include advanced sorting, cleaning and pelletizing equipment, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of MCR’s plastics recycling and manufacturing process.

The facility is expected to be online later this year.

"Kentucky is proud to welcome MVR, an environmentally friendly company, to its capital city," says Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear. "The creation of 360 new jobs and a more than $9.2 million investment will provide a significant boost to the economy, opening up hundreds of employment opportunities for the community. We look forward to a continued partnership with MVR as they establish and grow their new facility in the Commonwealth."
