Metso Supplying Paper Line to Chinese Mill

3/4/2010

New production line expected to be operational by second quarter of 2011.

The international equipment company Metso has announced that it is supplying a containerboard production line to the Chinese paper company Zhejiang Ji'An Paper Packet Co. Ltd. The system will be installed at the company’s mill in Jiaxing, China. Start-up of the production line is scheduled for the second quarter of next year.

Metso's delivery will include a containerboard machine. The fully automated reel features one-level reeling technology. The Metso automation package will comprise process, machine and quality controls, the company says.

The containerboard machine’s daily production capacity will be about 1,900 metric tons of coated white top linerboard. Raw materials to be used by the paper mill include bleached kraft pulp, deinked pulp, mixed waste and Old Corrugated Containers (OCC), the company says.

Zhejiang, a subsidiary of Shanghai Taison Pulp & Paper Group, currently has annual production capacity of around 750,000 tons per year.
